RAAVE TAPES bubble with a shimmering darkness, fusing genres to create a niche yet nostalgic sonic landscape. With an undeniably captivating catalogue of tunes, dance-rock architects Lindsay O’Connell and Joab Eastley carve out a refreshing place for fans of the likes of The Presets, Northeast Party House, Bloc Party, and Charli XCX to enjoy.

Known amongst their artist peers as ‘the two nicest people in Australian music’ (Connor Brooker – Bugs, April 2020), RAAVE TAPES fuse socially progressive themes into frenzied floor fillers, the Newcastle now-duo believe they’ve finally bottled their audible essence.

Latest tunes ‘I Will Let You Down’ and ‘Stand’ are no exception, harnessing their trademark powerful electronic influences, yet showcasing an element of vulnerability and honesty in their work.

“‘I Will Let You Down’ is an apologetic homage to our friends and loved ones,” Eastley explains. “For fans of: feeling the excruciating pang of too many unopened messages.”

‘I Will Let You Down’ and ‘Stand’ are both taken from an upcoming EP and follows on from the likes of their recent achievements, including ‘How Long Did Urs Take’ in June, as well as a special guest appearance on Brissy trio Bugs’ Like A Version performance of Mallrat’s ‘Charlie’ which reached #91 on the triple j Hottest 100.

RAAVE TAPES boast a bright list of live achievements since their inception, including a sold out 800 capacity hometown show, showcasing to packed rooms at BIGSOUND, festival appearances at Groovin’ The Moo, Yours & Owls, Mountain Sounds, The Hills Are Alive, Best Night Ever, Festival Of The Sun, a co-headline spot at Mountain Goat Valley Crawl and tours with Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and These New South Whales.

With their new sonic direction showing more RAAVE, and less tape, this year is set to deliver surprise after surprise from the duo.
